A declaration of love to Thomas Bernhard

Thom feels like a failure, he doesn't think much of society and even less of his parents. He blames his inability to live on his socialisation. He describes his socialisation as making life impossible. Thom is highly intelligent, which also explains the awkwardness of his thinking; he dissects himself and his existence as if it were the only task in life. He faints from time to time, but this time everything feels different - his life literally passes him by. Thom thinks about his parents and his childhood, which provide an explanation for his personality. Thom thinks about his everyday life, his school days, his actions and attitudes, which make it clear to him that he is not one jot better than the others. Thom wants a different world that he can shape as he sees fit. Thom wants to be happy, but the monstrous burdens that life brings with it leave him hopeless. Thom is no longer alive - but he is not dead either. And: Thom thinks of Miss Gretchen, with whom he would have liked to have had a relationship. When did it all go wrong? And can a whole fatal life balance be drawn up within half an hour?
